MOON Cinematic 3D Animation

An artistic and data-driven exploration of Earth’s natural satellite

proccess .

In this project, I set out to recreate the Moon with scientific precision and cinematic expression.

Using real height maps and surface data provided by NASA, this 3D animation explores the balance between realism and storytelling—transforming raw space data into a visual experience rooted in shadow, scale, and wonder.

Using Blender 4.3.2, I built a high-resolution moon model and applied displacement maps to recreate craters, ridges, and elevation shifts. Realistic surface textures were layered with fine bump and specular maps to simulate light scattering across the Moon’s dusty terrain.
