The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing (W198) is more than a car—it is an icon of elegance, engineering, and timeless innovation.

This project is a personal tribute to its sculptural form and aerodynamic precision, recreated entirely in Blender.

The goal was to capture the spirit of the Gullwing through a cinematic, minimal studio environment, blending architectural modernism with high-end automotive visualization.

Introduction

The project’s direction was inspired by:

Bauhaus geometry and modernist architecture

Minimal exhibition spaces resembling design museums
Cinematic lighting setups from high-end photography

The environment was deliberately abstract: spiral staircases, reflective panels, and architectural structures frame the Gullwing as a piece of art—not just a vehicle.

he Gullwing was modeled and refined in Blender, with careful attention to proportion, silhouette, and the distinct details that define the W198.

Wireframe previews helped refine:

Body curvature
Chrome trims and reflections
Gullwing door mechanisms

The surrounding architecture was designed as a stage for storytelling, emphasizing scale and drama.

Modeling & Process

Each close-up render celebrates the design language:

the Mercedes badge, headlight lenses, door hinges, and subtle material transitions.
